PADI Self Reliant Diver Specialty
Whether you are an introvert, a photographer or just prefer diving alone, it might be time to look at the Self Reliant Diver Specialty.
There are lots of solo divers out there, we just never see them! Rockfish Divers is not against diving by yourself, IF its done properly. If an o-ring were to blow underwater, your cylinder could drain in seconds - without a backup air source you could be in a lot of trouble.
The Self Reliant Diver Specialty teaches you how to use a backup air source, a surface marker buoy underwater, gas management/consumption rules and much more. Go ahead dive on your own, but please do it safely.
The course is an evening of classroom training and 3 open water dives.
You are required to be an advanced diver with 100 logged dives. In addition, you will need a redundant air source, and a backup computer, visual and audible signaling devices. We can rent a stage bottle to you, you are required to supply all other equipment.
Cost is $700.00 + GST including 3 shore dives. Stage bottle rental is $50 for all 3 dives.
