The Instructor Exam (IE)
- 2 day comprehensive exam conducted by PADI staff.
- Must have 100 dives prior to attending.
- Fee paid to PADI to attend: $650
- Contact Rockfish Divers for a list of IE's around the globe - Complete the exam in Honduras, Thailand or other beautiful tropical destinations!! Scheduled dates include:
- Aug. 6th/7th - Edmonton, Ab.
- Nov.12th/13th - Vancouver, BC
- Dec. 10th/11th - Seattle, Wa.
- With enough candidates we can host our own IE here in Victoria.
What can you do once becoming an OWSI?
Once you have completed the IE successfully, you will be an Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI). As an OWSI, you are qualified to teach:
Once you have certified 25 divers and have completed 20 dives in a respective specialty area, you can start teaching specialties. For example, if you have 20 drysuit dives and you have certified 25 divers, you can apply to PADI to become a Drysuit Specialty Instructor
