Prior to 2012, Rockfish Divers operated primarily as a dive charter business. With a single dive vessel, a compressor and a bit of dive equipment, Rockfish Divers maintained a minimal presence in the Victoria dive community. Since its purchase in 2012, the 'new' Rockfish Divers has evolved into a full dive facility, running dive courses from bubblemakers at age 8 to certifying scuba diving instructors by owner and PADI course Director, Tyler Preston.
A second vessel was purchased in 2015, and a new location was attained in Victoria that same year. Rockfish Divers trained divers at the University of Victoria for 5 years, and is now closely linked with Pearson College, where students learn to dive and continue their scuba education over a two year stay at the College. We thrive on linking education with scuba. Our Mission is constantly evolving, but for now, here is what we strive to be as a business: Scuba is more than just going underwater to see cool things. We believe diving connects people to nature through experiential learning, to each other with shared adventure, and to themselves as divers discover and master a new passion. Our staff are committed to share our extensive knowledge and experience to bring these things to you. Our mission at Rockfish Divers is to educate and create space for amazing experiences, ecological awareness and lasting relationships with the understanding that safety is always job one. Our aim is to foster a community based on connections to safe diving practices, continued education, the marine environment and shared experience. Rockfish Divers provides it's team a safe, inclusive work environment where diving is both a way of life and a way to make a living. |
